OK, we’re now in 2024 (if you can believe it) and although there’s no reason to suddenly spurt into action, some of us are eager to get our bodies moving after what has been a very long Christmas period. Luckily for us in Manchester, The Body Coach will be hosting MOVE Manchester later this January, a brand new, three-day fitness experience created by Joe Wicks and powered by lululemon, taking place at Aviva Studios in Manchester.
Open on the weekend of January 26 – 28, MOVE Manchester will combine high-energy workouts, yoga classes, workshops, as well as meet and greets and small talks with Joe Wicks and other guests. It’s set to be the New Year inspiration you need and the means to get going, all in one.
The three-day immersive fitness experience will include a range of sessions for all ages and abilities, including:
- PE With Joe – Bringing the whole family together for a fun, high energy 40-minute workout, followed by a Q&A with Joe Wicks
- Calming Yoga with a live violin and cello – A restorative flow and stretch yoga class, accompanied by a wonderful violin a cello duo, perfect for all levels and abilities
- Sound Bath with Jasmine Hemsley – A rest and recovery session using crystal alchemy singing bowls, providing the ultimate lullaby to unwind
- Feel-Good HIIT with Joe – A 40-minute HIIT workout that will leave you feeling fitter, stronger and happier
- Joe’s HIIT Party and After Party: A 40-minute high-energy HIIT session featuring a live DJ playing banging tunes, followed by drinks, more music and a chance to chat to Joe
Alongside a variety of workout sessions, there will be a community hub featuring a range of free events and activities, including the chance to experience an ice bath with ice bath experts Brass Monkey. Other activities include a giant hopscotch obstacle course, self-care lounge and a collaborative motivation mural. Athletic apparel brand lululemon will also be in attendance with a pop-up shop and personalisation station.
If that’s not enough, MOVE Manchester will be hosting a range of special events, including cooking and wellness sessions, a 90s roller disco experience, fitness raves and more. Local primary schools will also be invited to engage with MOVE Manchester, with targeted activities including ‘Kids Fitness’ sessions with Joe and a ‘Kids Korner’, incorporating health, wellness, and creativity.
Joe Wicks said: “I am absolutely buzzing to be launching this brand new event at this incredible venue. Bringing people together to experience movement and fitness is my favourite thing in the world.
“My goal is to show people that fitness can be fun and to inspire everyone to keep moving in 2024 to boost their physical and mental health. This event is going to be really special and like nothing I’ve ever done before.”
Single tickets will cost £20 (£10 for children), including one session and access to the community area. There will also be a day pass priced at £90, where attendees will be able to participate in two sessions, get a signed copy of Joe’s latest book (Feel Good in 15), the opportunity to experience an ice bath with Brass Monkey and one year subscription to The Body Coach App.
