We love a good beer festival in Manchester (and a good beer for that matter), with our own local breweries and those from all over the world alike wanting to showcase their brews in our city. Coming this September, Monkey in the Woods festival makes a welcome return to Smithills Estate in Bolton, allowing visitors to taste the local product surrounded by gorgeous forest.
Northern Monkey Brew Co is the brewery behind Monkey in the Woods, and with its own tap room in Bolton and plenty of experience with festivals and events, you’ll be in safe hands. At Monkey in the Woods, Northern Monkey will serve up a huge selection of cask ales and craft beers alongside some of the best beers from guest breweries in the local area and beyond.
The brews are to be enjoyed with live music and top quality street food that’s on offer all weekend, alongside friends and family, all in the great outdoors − what could be better? What’s more, festivalgoers will receive a free festival glass and Monkey in the Woods programme to remember the day.
Local acts like Luke McColl and the Fallen 4 are set to perform, and hungry punters can look forward to a classic barbecue, and wood-fired pizza from Smoke, Meat and Fire, and Cugini’s.
On Saturday 14 September, Monkey in the Woods will be held in Smithills’ Woodland Trust car park off Barrow Bridge Road, and 30% of all proceeds will go to the Woodland Trust to maintain Smithills Estate.
There are two slots you can book onto, both costing £12 − 12:30pm-4:30pm here, and 5:30pm-9:30pm here.
📍 Monkey in the Woods will be held at Woodland Trust, Car Park, Barrow Bridge Rd, Bolton BL1 7NH.
