We’re very aware that we have one of the best Christmas markets right here in Manchester, but what we didn’t necessarily realise was just how pretty they are. A new study has revealed the most Instagrammable Christmas markets in Europe ahead of the festive season, and Manchester has topped the whole list.
Lifestyle magazine Dailybase has gathered a list of the best Christmas markets across Europe and took to Instagram to analyse how many posts with associated hashtags had been uploaded for each one.

Manchester has been named the most Instagrammable Christmas markets, with a massive 71,117 total Instagram hashtags. Featuring over 200 stalls at nine different locations, attendees can indulge in seasonal goodies, including handmade gifts, craft items, and mulled wine. The city is decorated from head to toe in festive lights, making it the perfect backdrop for your Christmas selfies.
What’s more, Manchester has plenty of ways to celebrate the festive season once you’ve enjoyed all the Instagrammable fun the Christmas markets have to offer. Whether it’s light shows and trails, visits to cosy villages or garden centres, or a chance to do some of that last minute Christmas shopping, we have it all when it comes to the festive season. This year, Manchester Christmas markets run from November 8 to December 22, and stalls are open every day.
