A Peaky Blinders-themed bar in Manchester has announced that it has closed its doors with immediate effect. Situated on the thriving Peter Street, Peaky Blinders bar was known for its live entertainment, bottomless brunches, Sunday roasts, and its nod to the roaring 20s.
However, it seems this was not by order of the Peaky Blinders, as owners said they are “devastated” that it has had to end this way. The bar opened in Manchester in 2018, featuring plenty of decor inspired by the popular Netflix series, such as dark wood furnishings and oil paintings of the main characters, like Tommy Shelby and Polly Gray, on the walls.

Announcing the news on social media yesterday (March 3), the owners of the bar said: “It is with an extremely heavy heart that we unfortunately have to announce the closure of Peaky Blinders Manchester with immediate effect. On behalf of our entire team, we are truly thankful to every guest who has stepped through our doors since opening in 2018.

From Peaky Blinders to an Irish bar
But the Peter Street building is not set to remain empty for long. Irish tavern group Katie O’Brien’s, which already has a site in Leeds, has now shared a video teasing their takeover of the Peaky Blinders bar site. Visitors to Katie O’Brien’s can expect live music as well as plenty of craic alongside Guinness and Murphy’s on tap.
