Perfectly situated right next to one of Manchester Airport’s functioning runways, the Manchester Airport Pub makes the most of its unique location – and it’s a lovely little spot to wind down after a rough day. Now, to make the experience fun for all the family, Manchester Airport Pub’s spacious playground has been revamped, and is now open for kids little and large to enjoy, whilst the planes take off mere metres away.
Created in collaboration with Playsound Services Ltd, the new playground is larger and features more equipment than the previous, including an accessible roundabout and sensory aids – ensuring all children can make the most of it. Staying on-theme, the main playground frame is encompassed by a red aeroplane, in case visitors needed reminding they’re in a pub at Manchester Airport…
With slides, climbing walls, tunnels, ropes, hanging bars and so much more, the newly revamped Manchester Airport Pub playground is everything you could want from a play area, giving the kids something to do during lulls between take off and landing, and potentially whilst you get a pint and have a sit down.
The revamp has also brought in some educational and sensory aspects, making the playground that bit more enriching and inclusive for all. You’ll find boards teaching the basics of sign language (which I wish we had as children…), a reaction game to test visitors’ skills, plus one for younger visitors teaching numbers, objects and general vocabulary they’ll need.
What’s more, younger visitors can have a go on the aviation-themed mini play structure, with a small slide, tunnel and sensory bits and bobs to keep them occupied. With a roundabout, rope climbing structures and plenty of picnic tables to choose from, the Manchester Airport Pub playground offers fun for all the family, plus food, drink and of course, hours-worth of entertainment.
