It feels like it has been an age since rumours of Gordon Ramsay opening a restaurant in Manchester circulated but now the Michelin-starred chef and restaurateur can finally confirm the grand opening of Lucky Cat Manchester. The highly-anticipated restaurant marks the first major opening for Gordon Ramsay in the city and the second Lucky Cat worldwide.
Open from June 1, the Manchester location promises to be “a dining experience like no other”, capturing the essence of the original Mayfair eatery in a breath-taking Art Deco building at the top of King Street, alongside Manchester’s iconic Hotel Gotham. The restaurant spans three floors and features opulent dining vaults, paying homage to the building’s heritage, plus extensive private dining spaces and private bars alongside the main restaurant.
Designed by Russell Sage Studio, the venue pays homage to the building’s rich history while adding splashes of character for Lucky Cat allowing guests to experience the magic of Lucky Cat, as it fuses the vibrant atmosphere of 1930s Tokyo kissas and drinking dens. Diners can expect Asian-inspired dishes, top wines and cocktails as well as live DJs, aiming to replicate Lucky Cat Mayfair’s reputation as a dining hotspot on the London food scene.
Embark on a gastronomic journey with dishes carefully created by Gordon Ramsay and Lucky Cat Executive Head Chef Andre Camilo such as Korean spiced black cod, sirloin weeping tiger, sushi, tuna tartar and the legendary Lucky Cat bonito fried duck leg bao. Lucky Cat Manchester will feature the very best dishes on the Mayfair menu as well as brand new dishes for guests to savour.
An innovative cocktail list includes the one-of-a-kind Lucky Negroni, where the gin in your drink is determined by a captivating game of chance. With three dice hidden inside a mysterious box, the numbers rolled will unlock the perfect combination of gins, vermouths, and bitters destined for your drink. With a staggering 216 possible combinations, your Lucky Negroni is a personalised, exhilarating experience, crafted by fate itself.
Commenting on the opening of Lucky Cat Manchester, Gordon Ramsay said: “I’ve toured and worked in much of Asia over the years, and the culture, the flavours, and the incredible cooking truly inspire me. Manchester is renowned for its thriving culinary landscape, and I’m thrilled to be a part of it.
“We’re fired up to build on the phenomenal success of our Mayfair restaurant and bring something truly exceptional to the people of Manchester this Summer. I can’t wait for Lucky Cat to make its mark in this fantastic city!”
