After voicing the tram announcements on Manchester’s Metrolink last week, Liam Gallagher has more updates for us this week as the musician has announced a new tour. Celebrating the 30 year anniversary of Oasis’ debut album, Definitely Maybe, Liam Gallagher is set to tour the country during 2024 with three huge homecoming gigs taking place at Manchester’s Co-op Live.
The Burnage-born star had been teasing the news on social media over the weekend, posting a setlist containing the full tracklist of the iconic Oasis album, which was first released in August 1994. Liam will perform the ‘Definitely Maybe’ album in full for the first time, along with some select b-sides from the era.
The sets will of course be packed with classics – ‘Rock ‘n’ Roll Star’, ‘Live Forever’, ‘Supersonic’ and ‘Cigarettes & Alcohol’, to name but a few. But it will also be a rare opportunity to see other album tracks that have rarely, if ever, been performed since the mid-‘90s, including ‘Up In The Sky’ and ‘Digsy’s Dinner’.
The ‘Definitely Maybe’ tour will kick off in Sheffield on June 1, 2024, before heading to London, Cardiff, Glasgow and Dublin. The tour includes three huge homecoming shows at Manchester’s new Co-op Live Arena, right next to his beloved Man City’s Etihad Stadium.
Two of the Manchester dates (June 16 and 17, 2024) will be in the middle of the tour – before Liam Gallagher returns again to finish the tour with a final closing night show at the Co-op Live Arena on June 27, 2024.
