It’s a dark, cold January, and we’re all being asked to stay home – luckily, the Body Coach is back to help us get up and moving!
When the first UK lockdown hit and schoolchildren were sent home, the parents of nearly nine million children fretted about what to do with them, and how to keep them active. Happily Joe Wicks, aka ‘The Body Coach’, stepped in to help, by running daily PE classes streamed live on his YouTube channel that quickly became a hit for kids and adults alike – and he made a welcome return in the November lockdown. Now, with a third (and hopefully final) lockdown in force, Wicks has confirmed the return of his online classes, here to help all of us stay fit and happy. [Featured image: @thebodycoach]
As with his original sessions, PE with Joe will be geared towards children of all ages, and feature loads of basic exercises primed to burn some energy that will no doubt make it a hit with desk-bound adults too. As Wicks notes, “this is so important for our children’s emotional and mental health”, especially since we’re being asked to stay at home as much as possible.
The workouts will be live-streamed sessions that take place on Wicks’ YouTube channel every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 9 am UK time, beginning on Monday, January 11. Each session will be a brisk and bracing 20-minute energy and mood-boosting workout designed to get kids moving – although it’s also an excellent way for bleary-eyed adults stumbling out of bed to prepare themselves for the day… Ready to get moving again?
