Us Mancs love a pasty, especially in the town of Bolton, where pasties started life. Now, diners in Bolton are due to receive two new drive-thru restaurants after developers secured funding. Developers A&F Forecourts have completed the development of the site at Bridgewater Avenue, Bolton, known to many as Cutacre, which will include a new Esso petrol station, and has brought on-board drive-thru retailers Greggs and Burger King.
The first stage of the petrol forecourt development – which includes and electrical car charging hub – has already been completed. Plans were initially submitted by the developer in 2022, and planning permission granted later on in the same year. This is Greggs’ third drive-thru in the North-West, following the opening of restaurants in Irlam and Blackburn.
Gordon Spotten, Business Development Director at lenders Together, said the new forecourt was in an “ideal location” for commuters and visitors to stop for refreshments.
He added: “We couldn’t be more delighted to help bring the project to life. The couple have extensive experience in developing and running some of the UKs best forecourts, and we have every confidence that this one will prove successful too.”
Greggs is pretty serious about business in the North West, having countless established stores in and around Manchester already, as well as expanding its number of Outlet stores which offer day-old products for heavily discounted prices.
This Greggs drive-thru adds another jewel to the crown of Bolton’s huge network of pasty shops, with company including Bolton born Carrs Pasties, Greenhalgh’s and Pound Bakery, but offering the convenient bonus of not having to even leave your car.
You can now officially grab your steak bake and sausage roll on your commute at the Bolton Greggs Drive-Thru, located just off the M61 at junction 4, BL5 1DB.
