A healthier kebab? Count me in.
Us Northerners (mostly) aren’t the types to shy away from a good kebab just because we’re sober, and now we have all the more reason to scran on the tasty takeaway treat. Opening up next month, German Doner Kebab will be gracing Stockport with a brand new restaurant, providing a healthier take on the classic Berlin kebab.
Going big on the concept of the traditional doner, the fast-food spot is well known for its tasty and creative menu options – which include doner nachos, doner quesadillas and even doner spring rolls. Launching back in 1989 in Berlin itself, it’s safe to say these guys know a thing or two about kebabs.
Set to open on March 4th, the brand new GDK restaurant will open up in the former Carphone Warehouse unit on the popular retail park on Great Portwood Street. The new opening will mark their second site in Greater Manchester, with an existing restaurant finding success in Oldham.
Kamal Khan, Operations Manager, said: “We are delighted to be bringing German Doner Kebab to Stockport. We’ve been looking for the perfect site in Greater Manchester for a while, and the unit on Stockport Retail Park is a great fit for us. We’re looking forward to welcoming new customers for takeaway and collection initially, and for a sit-down meal when restrictions permit. We hope German Doner Kebab will offer families and groups of friends something new and different – delicious, fresh, healthy kebabs, with something on the menu for everyone to enjoy.”
GDK Stockport will be open for both collection and takeaway from March 4th, launching on Deliveroo and JustEat for home delivery the week commencing March 8th.
