It’s deep-pan perfection.
Born from a lightbulb moment that occurred during lockdown, Corner Slice MCR is the first of its kind in our city, bringing Detroit-style pan pizza to Failsworth – and it’s been getting rave reviews ever since it opened back in August, with some days even selling out completely.
Opening up on Lord Lane, the pizzas (or pies, as our friends across the pond, would say) are baked in a dish, creating that deep-pan fluffy base that makes American pizza so bloomin’ good. The only difference is, the result is more Foccacia-like than Chicago-style – allowing you to fit a little more in your tum!
Created with love (and after a lot of experimentation), the menu includes a number of Italian-style toppings, including pepperoni, Italian sausage, fennel salami, Nduja and more – with both white and tomato bases to choose from and American touches such as fried chicken and waffle fries. The experimentation doesn’t stop there, either, with a number of fleeting specials often taking centre stage at the pizzeria – including butter chicken creations and even a lamb kebab inspired pizza pie.
The tasty spot also stocks a number of cool beer brands, including Neighbourhood Brew Co. and Camden Town Brewery, with a cocktail collab with Cheshire-based Tales & Tender teased as coming soon.
Open for both dine-in, takeaway and on Deliveroo now, the welcoming neighbourhood spot provides a welcome change from Manchester’s competitive Neapolitan pizza scene and can be found at 141 Lord Lane, Failsworth, M350QH.
