What would you do with a £1000? Personally, I’d spend it on getting some lessons in grace and decorum because I have all the “grace of a reversing dump truck without any tyres on.” Whether it’s Peter’s closing statement tirade or Kev sticking a whole whisk in his mouth, what would British culture be without ‘Come Dine With Me’?
Now, you too could immortalise yourself on TV (or even meme history), because Channel 4’s charming reality TV show is returning to Manchester. It’s on the hunt for five amateur chefs from the area to host a three-course dinner party for the other contestants at their own home.
You’ll also have to visit the other contestants’ homes and rate their food and hosting skills out of 10. At the end of it all, the highest-scoring chef will win £1,000 in cash. So if you think you’re an incredible home cook, the hostess with the mostest, or just have a sparkling personality fit for TV, this is the opportunity for you!
How do I apply to be on Come Dine With Me?
To apply to be on the next series of ‘Come Dine With Me’ (which will likely air next year and mark the 20th anniversary of the show) you must:
- Be aged at least 18
- Be a resident of Birmingham, Bradford, Bristol, Cambridge, Cardiff, Edinburgh, Manchester or Newcastle
- Not be/or have been a professional chef or trained as a professional chef
- Not be employed or have an immediate relative employed by ITV Studios or Channel 4
If you are eligible you’ll then have to fill in a short application form to be considered. In this, you’ll be encouraged to tell as much about yourself and your cooking skills as possible.
You’ll also need to upload at least two photos of yourself to accompany your entry – plus, you can also upload a short video clip introducing yourself, which may give a better sense of you’re personality and fit on the show.
The closing date to apply is October 25, 2024. To apply to Come Dine With Me head here.
