So we’ve pretty much nailed getting drunk by the waterside – with Manchester being laced with canals, and all – but actually on the water? That’s pretty untouched territory for us.
Setting sail for the first time just last summer, Cocktails Ahoy may well be in the running for Manchester’s most unique bar, thanks to its idyllic location on the water outside of Barca, Castlefield.
Taking those on board on a three-hour cruise down the Bridgewater Canal, Cocktails Ahoy brings a night out with a difference, boasting tons of themed parties to appeal to everyone. From epic 90’s nights to Peaky Blinders parties, guests can escape the city for a while via the water, with the only ‘life problem’ remaining which cocktail to try next.
The ever-changing themes take place every single month and are perfect for weekends away with mates, hen dos, stags and, of course, just your average Saturday night out on the town (because let’s face it, life on land gets a tad boring sometimes).
Fully stocked with everything you need to have a good time during the cruise, guests are treated to seven delicious cocktails each while on board, all crafted by the boat’s expert team of mixologists. From fruity, summer concoctions to a number of classics, the cocktail menu is regularly refreshed to keep on theme with each month’s event – whether it’s a whiskey-based drink ala Tommy Shelby or a Cosmopolitan ala Carrie Bradshaw.
Alongside cocktails and a cruise down the canal, guests are treated to resident DJ sets and plenty of space to dance, alongside room enough for 60 to party on each cruise, making it one of Manchester’s most exclusive parties.
Releasing the schedule for upcoming events right up until October, Mancs can check out exactly what’s in store for the coming months and book their tickets to a party here.
