Say “aloha” to your newest drinking den: Miami Ice. Opening the doors to a decade that’ll be all too familiar for some, Miami Ice’s new pal, Miami Tiki, officially opened at Hatch back in the spring, bringing things back to the future with their unique Tiki concept.
Eclectically pairing the two inspirations with floods of neon lighting nodding back to the 80s and fruity cocktails that effortlessly merge Miami beach with a taste of Polynesia, the new concept brings the classic Tiki bar bang up to date, amping things up with subtle palm-adorned walls and cool-yet-classic cocktails (in Tiki cups, no less).
Found within the heart of the shipping container complex, Miami Ice consists of two floors: the ground floor slick and colourful like it’s just fallen off the set of Blade Runner, and the top floor a transportive hut-style bar that belongs somewhere in the Pacific.
Secretly hidden above Miami Ice, the bamboo-clad bar is the perfect escape from the busy drinking and dining destination, allowing guests to enjoy a form of escapism that is, of course, accompanied by Pina Coladas and Mai Tais. Because obviously.
In addition to the Tiki hideaway – which can only be accessed by an understated set of stairs next to Miami Ice – guests will also be able to enjoy Miami Ice’s secret rooftop terrace, too, which overlooks the complex and gives Mancs the chance to soak up the fresh, summer air while enjoying a cocktail or two. The terrace will be open in the warmer months, giving plenty more space for guests to enjoy within Hatch.
Miami Ice and Miami Tiki are both open now at Hatch. Find them at 103 Oxford Rd, M1 7ED.
