A fresh new customisable salad bar has opened on Deansgate, bringing viral wellness trends and hearty, build-your-own bowls to the city centre. Clean Greens aims to win over even those who usually avoid salads, swapping sparse leaves for substantial, heavily layered bowls packed with bold flavours like harissa, hot honey, and chipotle.
The concept revolves around a single-size bowl starting at £8.95, which customers build entirely from scratch at the counter. The process begins with a choice of green base, offering shredded romaine, spinach, or crispy garlic kale. From there, diners add a carbohydrate foundation, selecting from spiced chickpeas, miso sweet potato, or giant mixed couscous.
Customisation & premium protein

The counter displays a wide spread of core ingredients, allowing customers to choose three to bulk up their bowls. The preparation area includes cherry tomatoes, charred lime-splashed sweetcorn, shredded sesame cabbage, sliced red onion, roasted red pepper, sesame broccoli, edamame, and Mediterranean courgettes.
The protein options are designed to be the focal point of the meal. For an additional cost, customers can add harissa chicken, garlic herb chicken, or hot honey halloumi. Seafood and plant-based diets are also catered for with gochujang salmon and crispy marinated tofu.
Bowls are then finished with textured toppings, such as chilli-drizzled crispy shallots or a bacon crunch, before being heavily dressed. Dressing options include a charred jalapeño ranch, chipotle caesar, and a classic balsamic and olive oil, with extra additions like sliced avocado or crumbled marinated feta also available.
Matcha, juices & supplement boosts

Beyond the central food counter, the venue serves a dedicated drinks menu focusing on fresh, made-to-order options. including freshly made standard juices, blended smoothies, and iced matcha lattes.
Customers looking to increase their nutritional intake can customise their drinks further by adding specific health boosts. The counter staff can blend in scoops of creatine or patented Glowwa collagen peptides directly into the beverages.

Operating out of 241 Deansgate, the newly opened space features a minimalist, neutral-toned interior. The dining area is fitted with simple wooden café tables, warm globe pendant lighting, and a prominent curved counter finished in fluted green tiles, creating a bright environment tailored to the city’s wellness-focused crowd.
