We’ve covered our fair share of incredible getaways not too far from home, with gorgeous villages and towns and countryside perfect for walking surrounding us. An Airbnb near Stoke-on-Trent, though, is like nothing we’ve ever seen. Take a huge wooden Airbnb cabin in the alps, overlooking beautiful water, with incredible interiors, a hot tub and even a garden-size replica of the Temple Bar pub in Dublin, plus a tiki bar, and you’ve got Chalet Du Lac in Rushton Spencer, just over an hour from Manchester.
Owned by Superhost Richard, who holds a 95% 5-star rating for location and check-in experience, Chalet Du Lac is a luxurious find on Airbnb, and, luckily, the photos do the fairy-tale cabin a lot of justice. Tastefully clad with wooden panels both outside and in, the home makes for the perfect getaway, providing the environment of somewhere far far away, giving warm, cosy vibes that you’d expect from a Swiss chalet or holiday home in Maine or Vermont.
In terms of floorplan, Chalet Du Lac boasts five bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms, with incredible open-plan living fronted by a huge length of windows drawing you to the awe-inspiring view of Rudyard Lake and the surrounding open greenery. Keep cosy by the woodburning fire at the Airbnb, or lounge in the wraparound garden or balcony on the deck chairs or in the hot tub, the world’s your oyster at Chalet Du Lac, come rain or shine.
Of course, the real pull of Chalet Du Lac is the private, fully-equipped mini Temple Bar out back, utilising even more of the outdoor space at the Airbnb. The Temple Bar outhouse is packed to the rafters with proper pub vibes, from the pool table and dart board, to the Guinness barrels and full size bar.
And that’s not all, because at a right angle with the mini Temple Bar in the courtyard, complete with picnic tables if you fancy a pint al fresco, is a whole tiki bar. Decked out with festoon lights, tropical plants and holiday vibes, grab cocktail ingredients from behind the bar and shake to your heart’s content, smashing Piña Colada after Piña Colada.
Just looking at the photos of Chalet Du Lac on Airbnb, you can feel the good times that are to come with mates or loads of family. And when you inevitably wake up worse for wear the day after arriving, why not take advantage of the beautiful surroundings? Head out for a ramble around Rudyard Lake, or, if you’re feeling brave, head to nearby Alton Towers for a whizz round the rollercoasters – it’s just a stone’s throw away.
Amenities at Chalet Du Lac are stated on Airbnb, including lake access, kitchen, WiFi, free parking on premises, private hot tub, TV, washing machine, dryer, bath and private patio and balcony, to name just a few, so you can rest assured that everything will be at your fingertips during your stay.
