No one wants the weekend to ever end and luckily for Mancs it doesn’t have to totally stop. Responding to popular demand and continuing the glorious food and drink offerings from the weekend, one of Manchester’s favourite gastro pubs The Black Friar has announced it will now be open every Monday, offering a new menu brimming with pub grub.
Served from 12pm til late, The Black Friar’s Pub Grub Mondays are a great new way to kick off the week and combat the Monday blues, by sharing hearty comfort food with friends and loved ones. The new menu offers something for everyone from British pub classics such as Hunter’s Chicken or Fish Pie; to plant-based eats including a vegan Roast Cauliflower and Potato Aloo Gobi that will keep you warm and cosy this Autumn.
Head Chef Ben Chaplin has also created their very own “Black Friar Boddingtons bangers” in collaboration with master butcher Lee Horsley Frost, in a nod to the venue’s status as a Boddingtons pub. The flavoursome beer sausages are served up with buttered mash and onion gravy. If you’re feeling extra peckish, The Black Friar’s classic sides menu featuring the likes of truffle fries, seasonal greens and chicory, walnut and blue cheese salad help to elevate any order.
Other highlights on the Pub Grub Mondays menu include Roasted Celeriac & Black Garlic Risotto; Cottage Pie; Cobb Salad (Black sticks Blue cheese, avocado, red onion, tomato, lettuce, and garlic croutons with option of adding bacon and chicken); Full Face Marinated Rump Steak; and Posh Fish Finger Ciabatta Sandwich. These simple yet elevated hearty classics are sure to get your week off to a flying start!
And if introducing Pub Grub Mondays wasn’t enough to beat the Monday blues, The Black Friar has also launched a weekday Happy Hour, which is available from 4pm to 6.30pm, Monday to Friday. Unwind after a busy day by heading to the gastro pub in Salford from the early evening and sip on the likes of £4 beers, £5 cocktails, £15 wine and £20 fizz.
The Pub Grub Monday Menu at The Black Friar is exclusively available on Mondays, so be sure to check it out. The Black Friar is open Monday to Sunday 12pm – 10pm. Advance bookings are encouraged and can be made here.
