Hey hey, you you! Following on from rock band Nickelback announcing that they will perform in Manchester next year, skater girl and pop-punk star Avril Lavigne is now coming to the city, and we feel like it’s the early noughties all over again.
The singer best known for songs ‘Sk8er Boi’, ‘Complicated’ and ‘Girlfriend’ has announced two UK outdoor shows taking place next summer. Performing at Cardiff Castle on July 2, 2024, Avril Lavigne will then head to Manchester to play at Castlefield Bowl on July 3, 2024, as part of the Sounds Of The City series.
Avril Lavigne shared her latest studio album back in February 2022 under the title ‘Love Sux’. She later released an expanded deluxe version of the LP in November of that year. Lavigne has received eight Grammy Awards nominations in two years, including Best New Artist.
The singer is yet to announce any more UK dates but her upcoming shows in the UK aren’t the only tour dates the Canadian singer has lined up for summer 2024. As previously announced, Lavigne will be playing a series of live shows across June and July to celebrate the album.
So far, Avril Lavigne has revealed that she will play at a number of shows and festivals including I Days in Milan on July 9, 2024 and Festival de Nîmes in Nîmes on July 10, 2024 and Festival Cruïlla in Barcelona on July 12, 2024.
Avril Lavigne will be supported by Canadian rock band Simple Plan, best known for their song ‘I’m Just a Kid’, at the Cardiff and Manchester gigs. Tickets for the two shows in the UK will go on sale this Friday (December 1) at 10am and will be available to buy here.
