After a hiatus of 11 years, everyone’s favourite girl group Girls Aloud are back for a reunion tour in May and June 2024, performing 15 dates across the UK and Ireland. The tour is dedicated to the memory of the late and much-missed Sarah Harding, one of the members of the iconic pop group, who tragically lost her battle with breast cancer back in 2021.
With the news welcomed by many Girls Aloud have even added more dates to their reunion tour including an additional one at Manchester AO Arena.
The pop group themselves first burst onto the scene back in 2002, when they competed on hit ITV show Popstars: The Rivals and hit the top of the UK Singles Chart at Christmas with the smash-hit ‘Sound of the Underground’.
They then went on to achieve a string of 20 consecutive top ten singles in the United Kingdom, including three other number ones (‘I’ll Stand by You’, ‘The Promise’ and ‘Walk This Way’ with the Sugababes) – not to mention two number one albums (‘Out of Control’ and ‘The Sound of Girls Aloud: The Greatest Hits’).
While there is no new music planned, you can expect them to play all the hits when they hit the stage in May, kicking off the tour in Dublin on Saturday May 18. Other dates planned are as follows:
- Monday 20 May – SSE Arena Belfast
- Thursday 23, Friday 24 and Saturday 25 May – Manchester AO Arena
- Monday 27 May – Cardiff Utilita Arena
- Friday 31 May and Saturday 1 June – Newcastle Utilita Arena
