Heaton Park is quite the chameleon. Flipping between its role as one of the most tranquil places in the city to being the home of one of the UK’s largest musical festivals (Parklife), the North Manchester park certainly carries a heavy responsibility. But it does so so effortlessly. And now, it’s taken on another duty: Manchester’s most scenic afternoon tea spot.
Creating three dining domes which sit on the edge of the lake, guests can take in the peaceful views of the water sheltered in their very own private dome – the perfect environment for a day-date or lunch with family.
Available to book now, the brand new afternoon tea offers several afternoon tea options, including vegan, classic, and one for the kids, too. Packed full of traditional English treats, guests can expect tasty treats such as chocolate brownies, gourmet sausage rolls, sponge cake, scones and scotch eggs – alongside a steaming pot of hot tea to wash it all down it.
Each dome is heated for the cooler days and sheltered from the typical Manchester rain, with room enough for six to cosy up and enjoy the afternoon tea.
The new domes join the addition of Electric Boats on the lake, offering a more relaxed but fun-packed boating experience for those who want to get out on the water. Guests can also rent their existing pedal boats and rowing boats, too, if you fancy doing a little more legwork on your scenic wander. Domes can be booked here.
