Dust off your vocal cords for this one…
Because Mamma Mia! Here we go again. Set to roll into town this May, our love for Mamma Mia is set to be reignited by the incredible Immersive Abba Mia Drive-In Experience – which is set to bring the good vibes of Greece to the city after months in lockdown. And boy, are we ready to crack out our invisible microphones and sing the night away until our throats are sore. It’s a novel experience that we’ve truly missed throughout lockdown, and the kind of nostalgic fun we’re more than ready to welcome back into our lives.
Taking place at the Trafford Centre on May 31, guests will be transported to the virtual island of Kalaraiki from the minute they drive into the theatre – starting with a virtual car ferry trip over to the ‘island’. There, Dancing Queens will be able to dust off their dancing shoes for what’s set to be an evening of nostalgic fun, with back-to-back ABBA hits performed to singalong to.
Located underneath the largest marquee in Europe, guests will be sheltered from the North West’s weather (come rain or shine!), providing a unique, summer-themed setting to get you in the Greek mood. And if that wasn’t all, there’ll even be an island cocktail service straight to your car – with alcohol-free tasty cocktails to enjoy. Almost as good as the all-inclusive real deal, huh?
Thanks to the fantastic marquee, guests won’t have to hide in their cars for rain-free refuge – with designated, socially distant seating areas provided to all guests on the day. Dance the night away, sing along to hits such as Gimme! Gimme! Gimme!, and enjoy the show with your bubble.
Prizes will be on-hand for the best dressed on the day, with your best shiny 70s attire and platform boots encouraged, of course. Tickets are on sale now starting at £49 per car, with two sessions taking place on May 31. Get yours here.
