There really is no simpler pleasure than taking in the sunset. But what makes that simple pleasure instantly special? Taking in the sunset from 20 storeys high, looking over your favourite city’s skyline. And when we say favourite city, we mean Manchester, obviously.
Bringing back their Blackout Dinner for the colder months after selling out for Halloween last year, the Manchester bar and restaurant 20 Stories, has announced that guests can do exactly that. The Manchester spot is hosting a special event which will see the stunning restaurant completely blacked out, with only candlelight and the light from the view of the city to provide the mysterious ambience.
Taking place on Sunday 27th October, guests will get to step into a darkened restaurant as the light from the thousands of candles flicker, before setting down at the table to enjoy some canapés and more. There, guests can unwind while taking in the natural views of the city, with no bright light sources to distract from the beautiful city scenes.
If that wasn’t all, 20 Stories will also be cooking up a very special four course menu (vegan menu available) for guests to indulge in as part of the Blackout Dinner. Diners will begin with goat’s curd, chicory, celery, pear and walnut followed by seared grey mullet, caramelised cauliflower, apple, pickled mussel and herb vinaigrette.
Next, diners can tuck into treacle cured fillet of beef, potato terrine, red wine shallot purée, trompette and beef sauce. The blackout dinner will finish with a a passion fruit and mango Eton mess.
Costing £80 per person, guests will be welcomed at 5.30pm before dining amongst the darkness commences. You can also opt for VIP window tables and receive a glass of bubbles on arrival for £120 per person.
