We’re very proud of our live music and entertainment scene here in Manchester, and with every show coming to the city, it becomes increasingly popular with world-renowned productions. Now, a new musical version of Dodie Smith’s classic book 101 Dalmatians will embark on a UK tour, coming to the Palace Theatre Manchester from 30 July 2024 – 10 August 2024.
When fashionista Cruella de Vil plots to swipe all the Dalmatian puppies in town to create her fabulous new fur coat, there’s trouble ahead for Pongo and Perdi and their litter of adorable, tail-wagging young pups.
101 Dalmatians is an absolute classic, popular with adults and children alike, having been reimagined several times; most notably the 1961 Disney cartoon, and the 1996 live action version with the legendary Glenn Close at the helm as Cruella.
This classic canine caper is brought to life on stage with spectacular puppetry, show-stopping choreography, hilarious songs and irresistible puppies – yes, real puppies! The production promises drama, action and a little bit of wholesome humour thrown in, on top of so much cuteness, of course.
Alongside the Manchester dates, the musical will be heading to Wimbledon, Birmingham, Norwich, Canterbury, Leicester, Belfast, Wolverhampton, Newcastle, Southend, Liverpool, Milton Keynes, Woking, Cardiff, Southampton, Aberdeen, York, Glasgow and Edinburgh, with further dates to be announced.
This new musical is written by Douglas Hodge and Johnny McKnight, from a stage adaptation by Zinnie Harris and is reimagined from the acclaimed Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre production in 2022. The cast and creative team are still to be announced.
It’s a must-see for all families next year, and makes the perfect Christmas present if you’re thinking ahead, having come straight from the stages of London.
Tickets for 101 Dalmatians The Musical are on presale now, with the general sale starting this Friday 20 October at 10am here. Book your tickets now – you’d be barking mad to miss it!
