Shaking up their menu for summer is Indian-Pakistani restaurant Zouk in Manchester with a mix of authentic classics as well as some sensational fusion dishes. Just when you thought curries couldn’t get any better, Zouk has taken things up a notch with some fire dishes you’ll definitely want to tuck into this season.
Combining our love for curry and cheesy naan bread, Zouk has created the Chicken Cheese Karahi adding mature Cheddar cheese into the mix. Chicken pieces, spices, tomatoes and fresh chilli all cooked in a sizzling wok with heaps of melted cheese. What’s not to love…?!
For their summer starters, Zouk is serving Pakistani Chicken Patties, Spiced Halloumi Pakoras, Mumbai Spiced Corn, Pulled Chicken Sliders and Bhari Beef Tikka. Other new additions to the Zouk summer menu include fusion dishes like the Indo-Chinese Gobi Manchurian and the tasty Hakka Noodles.
If you like their Chicken 65 then you will love the Gobi Manchurian- spicy cauliflower pakoras sautéed in a spicy sauce with peppers and onions. The Hakka Noodles consists of stir-fried noodles with a deliciously spicy Indo-Chinese sauce and sautéed peppers and onions, and is available with chicken or lamb.
Zouk’s new main courses also include Salmon Kaalvan (a Maharashtrian style fish curry made with tender filet of salmon in a perfectly spiced coconut sauce), Haryali Chicken Curry (desi style green chicken curry with fresh chilli and mint) and Pudina Kofta Curry (juicy lamb meatballs served in a creamy curry sauce with coconut, green chilli and mint). For veggies, thety can also try Mutter Paneer, which is Indian Paneer cheese with peas in a spicy tomato masala.
However, the special Zouk twist on some desi dishes doesn’t stop there as the Manchester restaurant has introduced some delicious Chocolate Samosas to their dessert menu. Possibly the best sweet samosa you will ever try, these delicate filo pastry parcels are filled with chocolate and hazelnuts and served with dipping sauce.
Plus sweet-toothed diners can indulge in either Gulab Jamun Cheesecake – a New York style baked cheesecake filled with syrupy gulab jamun and topped with crushed rose petals. The perfect combination of East meets West! There’s also Mango Kanufa on the menu, which is a delicious Middle Eastern layered dessert with fresh mango, vermicelli noodles and whipped cream as well as Walnut Tart, a classic walnut and treacle tart in a sweet pastry crust with vanilla ice cream.
The restaurant has recently had its summer décor installed with a vibrant tropical theme and lots of decorations for all ages to enjoy including flamingos, parrots and a super spot for family pictures. If you’re not heading off on holiday just yet there is still plenty of escapism and hot summer vibes to be enjoyed at Zouk. Book your table here.
