Drums, please! Hollywood actor and singer Will Smith has announced a new music tour which will be heading to the UK this summer and includes a huge gig in Manchester. The tour celebrates Will Smith’s first new album in 20 years, Based On A True Story, which will be released on March 28.
The star, best known for his roles in The Fresh Prince of Bel Air, Men In Black, Bad Boys, The Pursuit of Happiness, Hitch and I Am Legend, will be performing four shows in the UK. Will Smith will take to the stage of Scarborough Open Air Theatre, Bute Park in Cardiff, O2 Academy Brixton in London, The Halls in Wolverhampton and O2 Victoria Warehouse in Manchester on August 27.
Announcing the news of his tour on Instagram at the weekend, Will Smith wrote: “I’M GOING ON TOUR THIS SUMMER!! We’re hitting up UK & Europe to bring U all the hits, some new joints, and a few surprises 😉 All these years, I’ve NEVER done a headline tour and I can’t wait to see you guys!!”
While in recent years he’s concentrated on his acting career, Will Smith is also well known for hits such as Miami, Getting Jiggy Wit it, Men in Black and Summertime. The actor and singer will be performing a gig this week at the Concacaf Nations League final in Las Vegas.

Pre-sale will take place on March 19 and is only available via a pre-sale code when you sign-up via Will Smith’s website here. Tickets to see Will Smith in Manchester and other UK cities are due to be released on general sale from Friday March 21, with ticket sellers announced so far as Ticketmaster and AXS.
