4 Places In Manchester To Watch And Celebrate Wimbledon This Summer

It’s a strawberries and cream kinda summer.

Feeling the summer of sport? In between the chaos of the Euros – accompanied by frequent chants of ‘It’s Coming Home’ – it’s hard not to feel sucked in by the patriotism. Which is exactly why we’re getting proper stuck in with the Pimm’s and the strawberries and cream this Wimbledon season. Fancy jumping on board? Here are four places in Manchester either screening or celebrating Wimbledon this summer.

1. The Lawn Club

Providing a welcome antidote to the Euros hype, The Lawn Club will be showing Wimbledon on their big screen this summer – right up until July 11th. Allowing guests to request a table now with ‘screen view’, guests can sup on welly sharers of Pimm’s (or watering cans of Aperol Spritz), which are perfect for watching the upcoming matches with on the warmer days. 2. Albert’s Schloss

While Albert’s Schloss remains a screen-free zone, the bar and restaurant is getting into the Wimbledon spirit with their latest kruffin – which has been stuffed with strawberries and cream for the month of July. Kruffins are available to eat in or takeaway from 12 noon, and are switched up seasonally. Albert’s Schloss, 27 Peter St, M2 5QR.

3. The Ivy

Transforming their iconic chocolate bomb dessert into a homage to Wimbledon, guests can tuck into a taste sensation of white chocolate, strawberries and shortbread, with a strawberry sauce poured over to melt the ‘bomb’. What better way to celebrate the game this season? The Ivy, The Pavilion, Byrom St, M3 3HG.

4. First Street Summer of Sport

First Street’s Summer of Sport is back, providing the perfect setting to enjoy the tennis. Expect a giant screen front and centre in Tony Wilson Place, with deck chairs available on a first-come-first-served basis. Guests can also take advantage of table service for alcoholic drinks, as well as food and drink from neighbours HOME, Gasworks and Pizza Express. First Street, M15 4GU.
