Summer has been long and uncharacteristically glorious, but now, we’re looking to everything that autumn brings. We’re pretty excited for Halloween already, and one thing that’ll have you shaking in your boots is a silent disco known as The Silence of the Baths at Manchester’s famous and historical Victoria Baths, which is back for its third year.
Following the success of the past two years’ spooky events, Victoria Baths will bring you all the thrills of Halloween with a spooktacular silent disco, ‘The Silence of the Baths III: The Return‘, setting your heart racing and sending tingles running down your spine with a takeover by some of the best DJs around – and what’s more, it’s a day of girl power.
What is The Silence of the Baths & who is playing?
Returning after a sell-out 2024 return, The Silence of the Baths is back for a third year, and it’s set to be the best and spookiest yet. Girls on Film are back for Manchester’s most iconic Halloween night – and the team will be transforming Victoria Baths into a haunted haven of glamour and ghosts.

The whole pool complex is set to show its darker side as the pool halls, Turkish Baths and labyrinth of spaces that make up the Grade II* listed Victoria Baths are given an epic Halloween disco makeover. 100 spine-tingling skeletons, 9-foot high unearthly ghosts, a cauldron of 1,500 bats, and 500 watchful eyes are just some of the eerie encounters that lie in wait along with hidden horrors in the poolside changing cubicles.
Hattie Pearson, Meme Gold and DJ MXw0rld will be spinning the best tunes all night long, from 7.30pm-11.30pm, ensuring everyone has the most wicked time, and you can flick between channels to choose which vibe suits you.
Will there be food and drink at The Silence of the Baths?
Bubbling on the Victoria Baths’ bar will be a selection of terrifying elixirs to choose from including blood-curdling beers, spooky spirits, creepy cocktails and monster mocktails. Plus, for those with the munchies there will be plenty of tuck-shop style snacks to devour. Fancy dress is encouraged and there will be spooky swag bag prizes for those who impress.
What’s the history of Victoria Baths?

Take the music with you as you explore the Baths and discover its spooky surprises, there are loads of great photo-opps along the way − so full-on ghoulish glad rags are definitely the dress code.
A building once abandoned, a labyrinth of corridors and over 100 years of history, Victoria Baths was made for a fright night like this. With every space dressed for the occasion, you’re invited into a world where the line between eerie and enchanting blurs. From the balcony above the Sports Hall (former Males 2nd Class Pool) the trio of DJs will manifest the spirit of Manchester’s past club scene in a silent disco – each with their own channel.
When is The Silence of the Baths?
