A whole festival dedicated to vegan pizza is headed to town.
Finding a decent slice of vegan pizza can be more trouble than its worth – and if you’ve ever struggled to find a plant-based pie that resembles the real deal, you’ll be pretty chuffed to hear that an entire outdoor festival of it is poppin’ up in town this weekend.
Taking place at GRUB MCR, The Red Bank Project this Sunday – Mancs are invited to chow down on the traditional Italian cuisine, with all vendors serving 100% vegan grub.
Providing the goods will be Igloo Pizza Kitchen (with their tasty Neapolitan pizzas), Fritto (with fried calzones), Lucky Mama’s (deep pan pizza and dough balls) and Wilderness Kitchen (with NYC-style slices and pies) – along with Paradiso Authentic Italian, who’ll be satisfying our sweet tooth with homemade Tiramisu.
It’s not just pizza that’ll be available, either, with a number of local beers, ciders, cocktails, wines and more to wash it all down with.
Speaking of the upcoming event, which has proven incredibly popular before it even hits town, founder of GRUB said: “Plant Powered Sundays has always been our favourite event of the Grubby week. We also absolutely love pizza. However, it’s always quite tricky to get your hands on a good vegan pizza so we decided we needed to rectify this by throwing a big vegan pizza party!
“Judging by the response we’ve had we reckon Vegan Pizza Fest will have to become an annual special event and we can’t wait to see everyone down here this Sunday eating ALL the vegan pizza!”
Both indoor and covered outdoor seating will be available (indoor limited to same households/bubbles only), with a play area for under 5’s while you chow down on your pizza, and even a pop-up cinema called the Chapeltown Picture House.
The event takes place this Sunday October 4th from 12 noon, and no tickets are required for entry. GRUB can be found at 50 Red Bank, Cheetham Hill, M4 4HF.
