This weekend will see hundreds of people heading to the city on classic and vintage motorcycles for a fundraising ride. The globally celebrated Triumph Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride will be making a return to the Manchester area of St. John’s for its second consecutive year.
The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride will be a key highlight of “The Weekender”, a brand-new placemaking initiative set to launch across the St John’s estate on May 16 and 17. The ride will take place on Sunday 17th May, in partnership with The Trading Route, one of St. John’s go-to venues.

Participants are encouraged to dress in their finest attire, from tailored suits to vintage-inspired looks, as they ride through the city in style and solidarity. Spectators are invited to join the celebrations across St. John’s throughout the weekend.
What is the Triumph Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride?
Founded in 2012, the Triumph Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride is a global event that brings together motorcycle enthusiasts in cities worldwide to raise funds and awareness for prostate cancer research and men’s health. The event combines classic motorcycles, sharp tailoring and a shared commitment to men’s health.
The event now takes place in over 1,000 cities across 110 countries, with more than 130,000 riders participating and close to £45million ($60.5 million) raised. You can register to join the Manchester ride or donate here.

When and where does the ride start and finish?
The ride will begin with registration at Youles Triumph on Bury New Road, before riders set out on a route through Manchester and its surrounding suburbs. The procession will then return to the city centre, arriving at St. John’s, where The Trading Route will host the post-ride celebrations.
From 12pm to 2.30pm, visitors can enjoy live entertainment, featuring a mix of country, blues and rock covers, adding to the lively atmosphere as riders return and the celebrations unfold.

The Weekender at St John’s
As part of The Weekender’s Saturday programme, GRUB will host a series of vibrant street markets across Campfield and Grape Street at St. John’s. GRUB will bring together a mix of local traders, street food vendors, craft producers, and live entertainment, creating a lively, festival-style atmosphere throughout the day.
The wider programme also extends across the estate’s venues, with live music at Mollie’s Studio 4 and OPA at Fenix on the Friday night, alongside a series of live shows at Aviva Studios throughout the weekend, including performances from Tricky, Angel’s Bone, and Paczes & Lotek.

Gillian Fletcher, Director of Estates & Creative at Form Property, said: “We’re delighted to welcome the Triumph Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride back to St. John’s as part of The Weekender. It perfectly captures what this new initiative is about, community, character and creating memorable moments, all while supporting an important global cause.”
