The Trafford Centre’s annual Christmas lights switch on event will see two legendary musical acts come together to perform classic Christmas songs.
Two of Manchester’s most loved musical acts, Manchester Camerata and the AMC gospel choir, will take the traditional Christmas lights switch-on event to new musical heights on November 8, mixing the traditional with the modern.
Widely regarded as Britain’s most adventurous orchestra, Manchester Camerata will be kicking off the night with some of the most iconic and recognisable Christmas pieces before the AMC gospel choir join them to raise the roof of the iconic Main Dome. The night will feature re-imagined Christmas classics such as Handel’s Messiah, Joyful Joyful and many more before the two come together to switch the lights on.
Set against the spectacular backdrop of more than £1million worth of Christmas lights the event will signal the start of a celebration of local musical talent over the festive period which will see musical acts perform live at the Trafford Centre every Friday throughout December between 6pm and 10pm. There will also be a family-friendly Christmas parade on November 17.
