Bringing some sparkling news ahead of the festive season, The Trafford Centre has announced that their popular Christmas grotto will be making a return once again this winter. Described as “an immersive wonderland”, The Grotto: Dear Santa will take families on a magical adventure to visit Father Christmas.
Open from November 16 right through to Christmas Eve on December 24, Santa is expected to be a busy man as children are invited to head to an exclusive top-secret tour of The North Pole Headquarters, where holiday cheer comes to life. With the help of Santa’s Elves, families will embark on a whimsical adventure through Candy Cane Land, The Enchanted Forest, The Merry Makers Studio, Santa’s Study, and finally, the cosy cabin to meet the big man himself.
However, this year the magical Christmas grotto will be housed in a new location within the Trafford Centre – in the white building just outside The Great Hall which was formerly Frankie & Benny’s, and more recently the pop-up Broadway Diner, which closed in June. The Grotto has previously been located inside the Trafford Centre on Peel Avenue and has welcomed hundreds of families including some celebrities such as Gemma Atkinson and Molly-Mae Hague visiting with their children.
Simon Layton, Centre Director at Trafford Centre, said: “At Trafford Centre, we’re all about making memorable moments for our guests, especially at our favourite time of year – Christmas! The Grotto was a hugely popular experience last year, with wonderful feedback from families, so we’re delighted to announce its return. Tickets are selling fast, so don’t miss your opportunity to sprinkle extra magic on your Christmas festivities this year.”
Tickets are priced at £25 + booking fees for children (which includes a gift) and £7.50 +booking fees for adults, and are available to purchase here. Dedicated ‘Whispering Winter’ sessions will also be available to book, with quieter music, dimmer lights, and fewer visitors, ensuring that every child can enjoy the enchantment of meeting Santa in a comfortable and inclusive environment.
