26 Tremendous Things To Do In Manchester In October 2019

Autumn is here and there are loads of great things to do in Manchester this month.

Summer is over, it’s all getting very autumnal out there and, as much as we love the warm colours and crunchy leaves, it is a touch chilly. With that in mind, we’ve searched high and low for the best things to do in Manchester this month to keep you out of the cold.

1. Grab a free coffee (October 1)

Today (October 1) coffee-enthusiasts will be able to serve themselves a perfect barista-quality, machine crafted cup of their favourite drink, all day long on, for FREE from Costa express machines. Coffee lovers will be able to choose from classics including Americano, Latte, Espresso or Cappuccino. 2. Head to this Intergalactic Disco (October 4)

After years of hosting out of this world events, from boat parties and rooftops to spaceship-themed secret festival stages and open-air day time raves with the likes of Marquis Hawkes, the group will celebrate its birthday in the most appropriate way, with an intergalactic disco.

On October 4 Gorilla in Manchester’s Whitworth Street will be transformed into an Intergalactic Disco dream, complete with out of this world decorations and extraterrestrial beings. The event will be headlined by famous disco magician Late Nite Tuff Guy, a superhero of soul, a destroyer of dance floors and a purveyor of the smoothest sounds this side of 1977, along with Surco resident. Click here to get your tickets. 54-56 Whitworth St, M1 5WW.

3. Support Breast Cancer Awareness month and treat yourself to a ‘Boobtini’

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and Slug & Lettuce has partnered up with the breast cancer charity, Coppafeel! which is on a mission to encourage and empower young people to check their boobs and pecs.

The Slug & Lettuce in Manchester’s Spinningfields will also host its very own ‘Boob Brunch’ on October 5 where, for just £6.00 (£2.50 donation to CoppaFeel!), guests will be able to enjoy a brunch dish, a Boobtini, hot drinks, a Boobette talk and a craft activity. Click here for more information.

4. Sample drinks from some of Manchester’s best bars at this epic two-day cocktail festival (October 11 and 12)

Cocktail lovers are invited to Viadux in Manchester’s Albion Street on October 11 and 12 for a festival like no other. Perfect for aficionados and the cocktail curious, Cocktails in the City will give guests the opportunity to discover some of the city’s most exciting and exclusive bars, where Manchester’s most creative bartenders will be serving the finest drinks, all under one roof.

5. Try Crazy Pedro’s latest creation in partnership with Camden Town Brewery (from October 11)

Crazy Pedro’s has teamed up with Camden Town Brewery to create its very own beer, Pedro’s Party Brew. Made to be the perfect easy-drinker, Pedro’s Party Brew is brewed with pale ale malt and citrusy hops for a lager ale mash-up (oh, my). And it will be available from all Pedro’s sites from October 11. To celebrate its launch, Pedro has put together a special line-up for fans to get a taste of the ultimate party beer. 6 – 10. Enjoy bottomless drinks and unlimited popcorn at these immersive film screenings (October 12 – October 26)

12. See the naughtiest puppet show in town (October 21 – October 26)

comedy musical Avenue Q will return to the Palace Theatre from October 21 – 26 with all of your favourite fuzzy friends. The Tony Award-winning musical, created by Jeff Marx and Robert Lopez, Co-creator of Book of Mormon and songwriter for Disney’s Frozen, is an irresistibly charming tale of the loveable characters on a downtown New York street trying to make sense of life’s burning issues.

13. Embrace your inner child at the Big Kid Circus (October 24)

Big Kid Circus is the inspiration of Kiril Kirilov and his wife Biliana, who, as the respected artists Duo Jordanov, worked for many years as professional Circus Artists. Kiril is also an experienced Circus Manager, while Bili has a wealth of knowledge as a designer and choreographer. 14. Treat yourself to some jazz by candlelight in this beautiful monastery (October 29)

A bespoke live jazz experience showcasing some of the UK’s best up-and-coming jazz bands is coming to a beautiful Manchester monastery.  The Monastery, famous for its stunning architecture and historical importance, will be bathed in candlelight, providing the perfect ambience to enjoy some of the UK’s top jazz talent.
