It’s a pretty big month for the Haçienda. Not only will the legendary Manchester nightclub be celebrating its 40th anniversary, but it’s also been revealed that they’ll be hosting a one-off rave where the story officially began back in 1982.
Now known as the Haçienda Apartments, the Haçienda will take over the car park of its original venue – which was knocked down 20 years ago and rebuilt as flats – throwing an epic celebration of the now-iconic nightclub responsible for the careers of legendary bands such as Happy Mondays, Oasis and many, many more.
A similar event was hosted ten years ago at the same spot, with huge names such as Bez, Graeme Park and Peter Hook in attendance for the celebration. It’s expected that the 40th anniversary will attract guests of the same calibre, although, the line-up remains under lock and key for now.
The car park at Haçienda Apartments is the closest thing to the real deal now that the building has been reconstructed, and is sure to be a huge hit with not only residents of the building, but music lovers from all over the world, too.
The event is set to take place on May 21st, with all proceeds being donated to charity. It’s currently unclear how we’ll be able to get our hands on tickets, however, stay tuned for the latest here.
