Pomona Island Brew Co has taken over and reopened The Creameries in Chorlton, transforming the distinctive yellow-fronted building into a combined cafe and bar. The local brewery has updated the space to offer an in-house baking programme and speciality coffee during the day, before shifting focus to craft beer and cocktails in the evening.
What to expect at The Creameries
The kitchen team cures their own bacon and bakes cakes directly on the premises. The menu features brunch staples and salads, with a culinary style that draws on modern European and Scandinavian influences.
Daytime visitors can order breakfast sandwiches built with the house-cured bacon and topped with fried eggs, alongside freshly baked almond croissants and pain au chocolat. Sweet options include traditional carrot cake and thick slices of iced lemon cake garnished with fresh citrus and mint.
Rotating roasters & craft taps
Behind the wooden counter, the venue operates as a fully equipped speciality coffee shop. The cafe rotates its beans, bringing in selections from various roasteries across the UK and Europe, and the drinks board details a comprehensive programme, ranging from batch brews and flat whites poured into rustic ceramic cups to pour-overs and matcha preparations.

As the day progresses, the operation leans into the owners’ brewing background. A long row of wooden-handled taps lines the white tiled back wall beneath an orange painted logo, pouring a wide variety of Pomona Island craft beers into dimpled glass mugs. The bar also maintains a curated selection of wines and mixes cocktails, including clear spirits served with citrus twists in coupe glasses.
Original details, such as the “Drink Milk for Health” signage painted on the mirrors, remain part of the interior design, sitting alongside indoor plants and green tiled accents. Outside the yellow and black tiled exterior, rows of wooden tables and benches provide pavement seating for the neighbourhood, making it a real community spot.
