With a few sprinkles of sunshine hitting Manchester this April, it’s got us in the mood for summer and ice cream! Luckily, for those who love to lounge in the dreamy suntrap that is Stevenson Square, you’re in for a treat (quite literally) as a new ice cream shop, known as Sweet!, is set to open in Manchester this month.
Bringing sweet, cold and creamy treats to the Northern Quarter spot in time for summer, Sweet! is from the team behind The Quarter House, Hula and The Fitzgerald, and if they’re anything to go by it’s bound to be good. The new dessert shop has recently applied for a pavement license to allow customers to enjoy a refreshing ice cream or drink out in the sun.
Located at 9 Stevenson Square, next door to the much-loved Manchester boozers and entertainment venues, Sweet! will be serving up ice cream, milkshakes, slushies and more – with a huge giveaway planned for its launch date. The ice cream at Sweet! is locally-sourced from a fresh dairy farm within the Ribble Valley.
Mrs Dowson’s near Blackburn supplies award-winning ice cream which comes from a third-generation dairy farm. The Lancashire company serves up natural, farm-made dairy ice cream that uses full cream milk fresh from their dairy herd and honest local ingredients.
Visitors will be able to enjoy popular classic flavours like strawberry, mint choc chip, chocolate and vanilla, as well as vegan-friendly sorbets for all the plant-based or dairy-free eaters out there. At Sweet! there will be seating stretching out into the Manchester square for those wanting to enjoy an al fresco treat on site, as well as ice cream tubs and cones for those who’d prefer to take their ice cream to go.
With an opening date set for Wednesday 26th April, from 12pm Sweet! will be giving away 200 free ice creams to the first customers through the door of their shop.
