We love all kinds of festivals here in Manchester, whether it be of the music, beer, or food variety. Now, following on from the success of popular festival Block Party in Manchester city centre, the event is heading to Stockport. Aptly named Stock Party, the free event will see a host of independent operators come together to put on a packed day of entertainment, food, drink and family activities around Stockport town centre.
Organised by Where The Light Gets In, Track, Cloudwater, Robinsons Brewery, Sureshot, Balance and Runaway, in collaboration with Stockport’s Business Improvement District, Totally Stockport and Stockport Council, the event is taking place on Saturday 20 July from 12pm – 9pm and will celebrate the town’s thriving independent scene and rich brewing history.
Robinsons Brewery on Lower Hillgate will be home to the main festival square and bar, pouring the freshest beers from each of the breweries and a DJ set curated by Bohemian Arts Club to ensure a party atmosphere. For those who prefer a pinot noir to a pint, Isca will be on hand serving up a selection of their natural wines, plus there’ll be a BBQ by Where The Light Gets and sourdough pizza from Honest Crust.
Stockport’s iconic Underbanks will be filled with tables and chairs enabling festival-goers to enjoy an al fresco beer from a five-tap van located outside Rare Mags, which will be serving up beers from both Cloudwater and Track. Meanwhile, over at pottery studio and bakery Yellowhammer, visitors can build their own tankard in a special one-off pottery workshop.
On Little Underbank, independent record shop and cafe SK1 will be supplying the tunes, alongside tap takeovers at The Spinn Off and Cracked Actor, with Cafe San Juan and Marley’s Tacos serving up street food. Heading further down the Underbanks, the brand new White Lion will be hosting an Old Town General Store DJ set and tap takeover, with Ginger’s Ice Cream Emporium on hand serving up their artisan ice cream.
Entry to Stock Party is completely free, and you can find out more about this Stockport extravaganza here.
