Beige perfection.
When it comes to burgers, Manchester is spoiled for choice – with stacked and experimental creations ranging every cuisine you could possibly think of. But the one thing that we were missing? The chicken kiev burger.
Created by Manchester institution Solita, who currently has two restaurants in Manchester, the new burger celebrates the typical British tea in a very welcome gourmet manner, allowing us Mancs to level up a little when fulfilling our beige cravings… Albeit without the potato smileys and baked beans (which is absolutely an adult dinner and I won’t hear any more about it).
Boasting a whopping garlic and herb butter stuffed chicken kiev, the mammoth burger keeps it simple but tasty, simply blanketing the chicken goodness in a soft brioche bun, before adding iceberg lettuce and drizzling with mayo. Sounds bloomin’ lovely to me. It’s not the only tasty little chicken number though, either, with a Coronation Fried Chicken burger also on the menu – which is served with curry mayo, coronation slaw and a mini onion bhaji.
Recently receiving an overhaul at their Northern Quarter restaurant, Solita has been quietly improving their menu for some time, following the acquisition of the brand by Hull-based Shoot The Bull – who are pretty much experts when it comes to chucking together a good old burger. Keeping Solita’s famous core menu – including the Cheeseburger Spring Rolls and Wagyu beef burgers – Shoot The Bull has introduced us to the mega tasty Pretzel bun, as well as extended the burger joint’s offering to include tasty Satay Burgers and other new experimental creations. The menu is currently available to order on Deliveroo for both delivery and collection, with reservations also being taken for dine-in.
