We love a bit of vintage here in Manchester, and whether it’s clothes, music or just unique items, we’ve got plenty to browse and marvel at. Now, So Retro Events is bringing its Vintage Spectacular back to Stockport Market Hall, an all-out celebration of everything vintage which last year saw thousands of people descend on the marketplace to enjoy vintage stalls, live music, retro car displays, dancing and vintage bus rides – and this year will be no different.
What to expect at the So Retro Vintage Spectacular in Stockport
On Sunday 12th July between 11am-4pm, the market hall will be packed to the rafters with stalls selling clothing, accessories, jewellery, homeware, ceramics, artwork and vinyl records from across the decades – a true shopping paradise for treasure hunters!
Fair-goers will also have access to a vintage styling zone where fashion expert Sophie Yesufu will be offering free colour analysis taster sessions, and you can have your hair authentically styled by The Vintage Beauty Parlour – so if you’ve always fancied a victory roll or kiss curl, this is your chance. Once you’ve browsed the vintage delights of the stalls and been styled to perfection, you can hop on a vintage bus for a free ride around Stockport Town Centre, thanks to RM Coaches.
If that wasn’t enough, outside the market hall there’ll be live music from Leeds City Stompers, a red hot blues band who love playing swing, ragtime and jazz from the 1920s-1950s. As with any self-respecting event, it’ll also be complete with close-up magic performed by Michael Diamond, plus a retro bike display courtesy of the Old Skool Cranks – think classic choppers, BMXs and anything else that would send a 40s housewife into a spiral…
So Retro Events founder Michelle Barratt is delighted to be back in Stockport. “We had an amazing time at the market hall last year,” said Michelle. “I loved seeing people from all generations enjoying all the vintage stalls and entertainment and the atmosphere was incredible!”
