After its success over the years at one of Greater Manchester’s award-winning markets, the festival, named So Hong Kong, has announced it will be returning to Manchester this weekend. Bringing the bustling markets of Hong Kong to the streets of Manchester, visitors will find over 40 stalls offering traditional Hong Kong cuisine and handicrafts – and better yet, the festival is free to attend and pet-friendly.
When and where will the So Hong Kong Summer Festival take place in Manchester?
Originally started by Cammie Liu, owner of Moliuliu’s Store, the popular food and crafts market in Bury Market, is coming to Aviva Studios in Manchester for a summer festival. The event will take place on Sunday 5th July 2026 from 10am to 4pm.
What to expect at the festival
The one-day event is a celebration of community, culture, and connection and invites visitors to experience the best of Asian culture through food, art, and music. Over 40 stalls will fill Aviva Studios with a diverse selection of Asian hot food, prepacked delicacies, and handmade crafts, offering a feast for the senses and a showcase of creativity from local and international vendors.
So Hong Kong Summer Festival 2026 will feature live singing performances of Cantonese songs, bringing a nostalgic and joyful atmosphere to the event. Visitors can also take part in interactive art experiences, including sketching workshops led by wahayeahsketchgroupuk and a free tote bag decorating workshop, perfect for families and creative enthusiasts.
