Spring seems to have sprung here in Manchester, and with a couple of sunny days in our pockets, we’re feeling ready to be outside and enjoy nature. But we may need to hold our horses, because as much as we hoped and prayed it was behind us, snow is set to return to Greater Manchester this week…
Although the weather may still be fairly temperate, minus that all-important sunshine we saw last week, things are set to take a decidedly chilly turn once again. Don’t worry, we’re not looking at blizzards or downpours of snow, but the white stuff will be making a significant appearance during the middle of the week.
The Met Office predicts snow mostly for areas on higher ground, but things will definitely be affected as blustery showers come in.

Met Office North West weather forecast
Tuesday:
An unsettled day ahead. Often windy, particularly around coasts and hills, with spells of rain, this turning heavy at times. Maximum temperature 13 °C.
Outlook for Wednesday to Friday:
Brighter but colder on Wednesday with blustery showers, these wintry over the hills. Drier and brighter on Thursday but staying chilly. Then a return of some wet weather on Friday.
Weather map for Greater Manchester
WX Maps also gives a wintry forecast for the middle of this week. A bout of heavy rain comes in from the west on Tuesday (24 March), bringing in unsettled conditions. Snow is set to come in over areas of Greater Manchester including Bury, Oldham and Tameside, spreading south to Stockport and the Peaks, primarily during the night from Tuesday to Wednesday (25 March).

The forecast then shows more snow for all areas of Greater Manchester throughout Wednesday until around midday, accompanied by some rain. These wintry conditions are then set to clear in a westerly direction.
There is potential for more snow in the following days and weeks, however, fingers crossed for warmer temperatures, keeping that wintry weather away.
