Veganuary is officially underway and every little offering to make it easier counts. Following their success at their two shops in MediaCity, Manchester butty shop Sndwch is helping the vegan revolution along by offering a free coffee made with potato milk to every customer who purchases one of their vegan sandwiches. No, you didn’t read that wrong. Potato milk.
Sndwch say the new barista blend is smooth, creamy and in fact more sustainable than other plant-based milks, looking at land efficiency and water usage in producing the milk. Potato milk is also said to be great for frothing in coffee, hence the trial, and Sndwch’s partnership with the first global potato milk producer, DUG, is here to get Manchester on the bandwagon.
The menu of 10 Veganuary butties, one for every year that Veganuary has been around, includes fillings such as ‘NOT a Tuna, Spring Onion & Nori Seaweed’, ‘NOT a Chicken, Pesto & Spinach’ and ‘NOT a BLT’, ensuring there’s a taste for everyone. This menu will not only be available in the Sndwch stores at MediaCity, but across the General Store group in spots like Ancoats, Castlefield, Deansgate, Moss Side and Stretford Foodhall, meaning you can get your hands on it in whichever part of the region you are.
Sndwch founder, Alex Markham, was a little sceptical of potato milk at first, however he said: “Veganuary is all about keeping an open mind and we’re daring customers to try something completely new. We hope letting people try a potato milk coffee for free will help with the financial pinch this time of year too.”
Sndwch in Manchester is offering a free medium-sized potato milk coffee with the purchase of any plant-based sandwich between January 10 and 31, so make sure you make the most of it – then you can say you’ve tried this unique milk alternative.
