Singapore Airlines (SIA) has announced that it will be increasing the flight frequency between Singapore and Manchester, in addition to Milan, Munich, and London Gatwick, in the coming months. The change comes due to the strong demand on these routes, and in order to enhance connectivity options at the airline’s Singapore hub.
The airline will also launch five-times-weekly services to Madrid via Barcelona on October 26, 2026, subject to regulatory approvals.

Known for its urban glamour, Singapore has evolved beyond a layover hub to a destination in its own right. Singapore’s ‘Garden City’ is a must-visit attraction, with 400 parks and green spaces all across the island. ‘Gardens by the Bay’ is a popular green space, and Singapore’s Botanic Gardens is one of the few tropical gardens that have been inscribed to the UNESCO World Heritage.
Singapore Airlines is the longest-serving long-haul airline at Manchester Airport
In April, Singapore Airlines marked 40 years of direct connections between Manchester and the Southeast Asian country. Singapore Airlines is the longest-serving long-haul airline at Manchester Airport, having begun its operations with a twice-weekly service in 1986.
Apart from a brief hiatus during the Covid-19 pandemic, the airline has offered a regular scheduled service between Manchester and Singapore ever since. It also became the first airline to operate a commercial Airbus A350 flight from Manchester Airport in 2017.

When do Singapore-Manchester services start to increase?
From July 13, 2026, SIA’s Singapore-Manchester services, SQ302 and SQ301, will increase from five-times weekly to daily.
SIA’s current three-times-weekly Singapore-London Gatwick services, SQ314 and SQ313, will increase to daily from 25 October 2026. This will give SIA two daily services to the airport, and six flights a day to London after including the four daily services to London Heathrow

Tickets for the additional services to Manchester, Milan, Munich, and London Gatwick will be released progressively.
“We are seeing strong demand for travel to Europe”
Mr Dai Haoyu, Senior Vice President Marketing Planning, Singapore Airlines, said: “Europe is an important market for Singapore Airlines, and these adjustments reflect our commitment to it. We are seeing strong demand for travel to Europe, and increasing frequencies to key destinations such as Manchester, Milan, Munich, and London Gatwick in response.

“Madrid is also an increasingly popular tourist destination, as well as a financial and business hub. These new services will give our customers more choice and greater value when planning their travel.”
