Specially created in the era of social distancing, Box on the Docks became a popular summer instalment at Salford’s MediaCityUK – providing a fantastic space for guests to enjoy the novelty pop-up greenhouses in a completely socially-distanced space (without the fear of catching *God forbid* COVID-19). Now, as part of its grand metamorphosis, Seven Bro7hers will be taking over the pop-up, creating an alfresco beer piazza where guests will be able to enjoy locally-brewed beers, gins and street food.
Taking over the Box on the Docks bar with not only a rotating roster of special guests, but guest breweries too, guests will be able to sink a few pints in the sun – with the likes of Seven Bro7hers, ShinDigger, Pomona and Manchester Union Lager available on tap.
Food-wise, there’s plenty left to be announced, however, so far we’ve been teased with appearances from The Tasty Greek; who’ll be serving classic Greek gyros, Beigal; for fresh bagels daily, and A Few Scoops; who’ll be providing boozy ice cream, alongside Seven Bro7hers’ sister business, Four Sis4ers Distillery. The distillery will be popping up in their very own airstream caravan, where they’ll be creating tasty tipples with their signature range of gins.
Keith McAvoy, CEO of SEVEN BRO7HERS BREWING CO, said: “This year’s Box on the Docks is set to be the best yet! The partnership gives SEVEN BRO7HERS an opportunity to make the most of the summer footfall and visitors, and to do what we do best – celebrate great food and drink in the heart of Salford.
“MediaCity has been home to our beerhouse for 12 months. And despite challenges the pandemic has thrown at us, it continues to thrive. We can’t wait to expand into the Box on the Docks bar and welcome the whole site into the family this Summer.”
Josie Cahill, MediaCity Place Director added: “There’s a real buzz of excitement as we look forward to another summer of Box on the Docks. The concept was born from a need to support our local hospitality partners and we are thrilled it has continued to prove such a successful platform for independents on our doorstep and visitors to MediaCity. We’re excited to be partnering with the SEVEN BRO7HERS team who will bring a host of fantastic new food and drink popups that will really bring the Piazza to life for visitors and residents alike.”
Guests can expect social seating in place of the arty greenhouses, which have since been donated and repurposed by local community outreach groups. Box on the Docks will partner with the Greater Manchester Mayor’s Charity this summer, in. abid to help raise funds for A Bed Every Night. Box on the Docks is back now.
