Get ready for a sausage party like no other: a Dachshund Café is coming to Manchester!

Whether you’re a proud owner or just an admirer, all sausage dog-lovers will be welcome at the pop-up sausage dog café on Sunday, July 8.

Hosted by Northern Quarter-based chicken shop legends Yard and Coop, organisers promise a dedicated doggy menu including bark-scotti, pupcakes and dognuts. And the puns don’t stop there, every dachshund will also receive a free Pupuccino, while humans will be able to enjoy the restaurant’s famous buttermilk fried chicken.

The pop-up is the second child of the creative geniuses who brought us the Pug Cafe, which has popped up in cities around the UK including Manchester.

Organisers said:

“The team at Pug Cafe would like to invite the sausage dogs of Manchester and the North West to visit the pop-up Dachshund Cafe. Make sure you bring your little sausage to our pop up café to meet lots of new friends and tuck into some delicious doggy treats. If you don’t have your own little Doxie then don’t worry, Dachshund lovers also welcome. This is the perfect opportunity to meet lots of little wiener dogs and make lots of new friends.”

Would-be-diners needed to be on the ball if they want to secure their spot at the cutest cafe in Manchester. Not only are the best things in life not free, they also have an incredibly complex booking process.

Booking opened on June 9, when two secret email addresses (one for dachshund bringers and one for lovers) were released on the main page, the event page, on Instagram and on pugcafe.com. And as you’d expect, the cafe booked up in just a few hours, but all is not lost! You can secure your place on the waiting list by emailing DachshundOwnerManchester@gmail.com or DachshundLoverManchester@gmail.com.

Visits to the sausage dog café will be organised into 70-minute time slots at 9am, 10.15am, 11.30am, 12.45pm, 2pm and 3.15pm. And each request must include the number of dogs attending, the number of humans, and a preferred timeslot.

Formal attire is not required, but always encouraged. Taken by thedachshundcafe

Dachshund lovers will be charged £10 per person, while owners will pay just £6 per human – they are providing the entertainment, after all. Organisers ask that party sizes be kept to two people per dog, but further guests (up to five) can attend, with extras paying £8 each.

Location: Yard & Coop, 37 Edge St, Manchester M4 1HW. Nearest tram stop: Piccadilly Gardens. See it on Google Maps.
When: July 8, 9am – 4.30pm.
Price: £6 for dachshund owners, £10 for Dachshund lovers
