You’ll be hard pressed to find a rom-com lover who doesn’t consider Pretty Woman to be one of the best out there, and as of 2024, the onstage revival will be coming to Manchester. The smash West End hit is going on a UK and Ireland tour next year, hitting Manchester’s Opera House between Tuesday 5th – Saturday 16th March 2024.
As the story goes, once upon a time in the late ’80s, Vivian met Edward and her life changed forever. Be swept up in their romance in this dazzlingly theatrical take on a love story for the ages – and get to know these iconic characters in a whole new way – in a sensational show guaranteed to lift your spirits and light up your heart.
Truly not to be missed, Pretty Woman: The Musical features original music and lyrics by Grammy Award winner Bryan Adams and Jim Vallance, and of course Roy Orbison and Bill Dee’s international smash hit song ‘Oh, Pretty Woman’, a tune that inspired the entire film. The music really drives the show, adding an element to the original plot, allowing characters to express emotions in yet another dimension.
Expect tears, thrills, laughs and a whole lot of love in a new twist on this Julia Roberts and Richard Gere classic, with evergreen plot points related to class, sexism, and proper 80s style.
The tour will stretch from Birmingham in October 2023, to Sheffield in September 2024, with more venues and dates still to be announced. Pretty Woman is still available to book at its current home, the Savoy Theatre in London, until June this year, but the tour will hit UK and Irish spots such as Dartford and Cork, meaning most will have somewhere local to see this fantastic adaptation.
Tickets are available to book now from the Manchester Opera House website.
