If there’s one thing the Northern Quarter is known for, it’s its ultra-cool, laid-back vibe that’s been attracting the more ‘hip’ city residents among us for well over half a decade now. Home to eclectic, of-the-era bars such as Crazy Pedro’s, Twenty-Twenty Two and The Pen and Pencil, the Quarter’s tenants have set a precedent for all newcomers to follow, which newbies Pixel Bar well and truly understood.
Nabbing themselves a prime spot on Thomas Street – in a unit that was formerly home to Bar21 – Pixel Bar brings a new gaming experience for Mancs to enjoy, continuing the new ‘activity bar‘ theme that’s been sweeping the city of late.
Neighbouring the likes of Purezza and new Tiki bar on the block, Lono Cove, Pixel Bar brings beloved games such as Pokemon and Mario to life in a unique way, with not only two whole floors filled with video games, but themed cocktails that will have Pokemon fans thirsty to catch them all.
Soundtracked by some of the best pop-punk hits of our time, guests will be able to battle it out with friends, with console booths costing just £8 per group and a mega cheap cocktail happy hour ringing in at just two for £9.
Consisting of 11 consoles, guests can enjoy the likes of PS5, Xbox Series X and Nintendo Switch, alongside a number of free-to-play arcade cabinets dotted around the venue.
If that wasn’t all, Pixel Bar has also teamed up with Your Basic Kneads, who are on hand whipping up 16″ pizzas with crazy and creative toppings. Mancs may know the foodie legends already from their time a 7 Sins, where they currently serve up delicious pizzas topped with doner meat, hot dogs, baked beans, chicken nuggets, mushy peas and so much more.
Pixel Bar can be found at 10 Thomas Street and is open seven days a week.
