Easter is well and truly on the horizon, and whilst most of us are looking forward to guilt-free chocolate and a long bank holiday weekend, keeping the kids entertained can be quite the task. Fortunately for us in Greater Manchester, there’s plenty going on during the Easter holidays, and one event not to be missed is the one and only Peter Rabbit coming to Bury Transport Museum, along the East Lancashire Railway (ELR).
On Friday 18th (Good Friday) and Saturday 19th April, Peter Rabbit will be around to visit with all members of the family at intervals at Bury Transport Museum, plus there’ll be even more family fun with funfair rides (suitable for toddlers), face painters and craft activities – you can’t get better than that!

Complete your day out with a ride on one of the ELR heritage steam or diesel trains through the Irwell Valley from Bury Bolton Street station across the road, and you’ve got the perfect family day out this Easter.
The ticket price includes a ride on any ELR train services on the day of your visit, plus a meet and greet with Peter Rabbit (make sure you have your camera ready), Bury Transport Museum entry, crafting, petting farm, funfair rides X3, and face painting, so don’t worry about purchasing activities separately.
You can go on any train that day, however, do note that the entry time stated on your ticket is for the Peter Rabbit event located at Bury Transport Museum – so you must ensure that you arrive on time.

There is also a food vendor located at Bury Transport Museum, a café on platform three and four of Bury Bolton Street station serving pies, sandwiches and hot and cold drinks, plus the family friendly Trackside pub serving traditional pub grub and a kids menu on platform two – so you’re pretty well-covered. Otherwise, visitors are also more than welcome to bring a picnic to eat onboard their chosen train that day.
General admission tickets can be purchased online here, so don’t miss out and hop aboard!
