1. Yum Cha
Yum Cha is a staple for so many dim sum lovers in Manchester, not least for their generous portion sizes and reasonable prices. But of course what really keeps those orders coming in is the delicious food, star dishes being the Cha Siu honey barbecued pork bao buns, the salt and pepper king prawns and the roasted meats platter.
2. Double Zero Pizzeria (Best Pizza in North England & Midlands Deliveroo Restaurant Awards 2024)
Many people believe you can judge the quality of a pizzeria by its margherita, so it can only be a good sign that Double Zero’s is one of their most popular orders. Of course there are loads of other top notch options, including the new Vulcano with pepperoni, nduja, jalapeños and chilli honey.
3. The Original Third Eye
The bar is pretty high for Indian restaurants in Manchester, so any that seem to be getting special attention are definitely worth trying. And judging by the number of accolades they’ve acquired in recent years, the hype is deserved. There’s a mouthwatering array of Nepalese and Indian dishes to choose from, but the Secret Manchester audiences’ top picks are Chicken Momocha dumplings, the Dal Tarka and the mushroom rice.
4. Viet Shack
The team at Viet Shack have taken everything we love about Vietnamese cuisine and put their own unique spin on it. So whilst you can still get your fresh summer rolls (theirs are excellent!) and aromatic pho, they’ve got Manchester hooked on their loaded beef steak shack fries (or quack if you prefer duck) with crispy shallots and sriracha mayo, if something a bit more indulgent is in order…
5. Burgerism
Burgerism has made quite a splash on the Manchester food scene in the past year, after being named the seventh best burger in the UK. No wonder the people of Manchester seem to love it so much! But what’re they ordering? The Cheesed with two smashed beef patties or the Freebird buttermilk chicken burger seem to be the way to go.
6. My Thai
If you’re someone who struggles to order anything other than a Pad Thai when eating Thai food, then you’ll not be disappointed at My Thai. However, whilst this classic dish is one of their most popular, you can also dive into others such as Massaman and Panang curry, both very highly rated orders with their regulars.
7. Proove
Another of Manchester’s beloved pizza joints is Proove, who’s 00-grade flour and crème de la crème Fior di Latte mozzarella are just two of the things that make their pizzas a cut above the rest. The Diavola with nduja and fennel salami or the Funghi with mushrooms and truffle oil are two of their most popular.
8. Zambrero
We know how much our audience loves Mexican food, and Zambrero is the first option for so many Mancunians when they get that craving. Plus, with such an array of options for both sharing and solo dining, it’s unsurprising it’s such a staple in their Deliveroo repertoire. And coming in top for the best things to order are the customisable toasted burrito, the burrito bowl and the quesadilla stack.
9. Rola Wala
Taking the humble naan and promoting it from the staple add-on to your curry, Rola Wala has made everyone’s fave flatbread the main event on their fresh, healthy and flavoursome wrap menu. Footlong butter chicken naan roll with paneer? We’ll need no convincing.
10. Nell’s
Now for the people who like an NYC style pizza over a sourdough affair, Nell’s has got the Manchester foodies’ seal of approval. The ones you guys love the most are the Original Sausage Material with house sausage, pepperoni and jalapeños, and the Corn Supremacy with red onion, miso corn, crispy onions and jalapeño crema.
11. Blue Eyed Panda
Blue Eyed Panda’s extensive dim sum menu seems to cover all bases, which must be why you guys have voted it one of the best food spots in Manchester on Deliveroo. As for the standout dishes, we’ve been told you simply can’t go wrong with the aromatic crispy duck (or ‘mock’ duck for the veggies!) pancakes and the salt and pepper chips.
12. Micky’s
The category is: Food Porn. Yep, the sight of these sandwiches alone is guaranteed to ignite a burning desire within you to eat one instantly. When you do decide to chow down on yours, we have it on Manchester foodie authority that the Pesto Parm the Micky’s Steak Frites are not to be missed out on.
13. Federal Café
It’s no secret that the Aussie’s know a thing or two about brunch, and Federal Cafe’s perfectly executed dishes are testament to this. We can’t think of many better ways to start the day than with a sirloin steak, fried eggs and salsa verde – one of their most popular dishes!
14. La Cucina
If a full-on Italian feast is calling your name then La Cucina offers a number of other delectable, traditional dishes. Promisingly, their margherita is popular – but if you’re in the mood for pasta, the tagliatelle Alfredo and pollo Milanese are also great crowd pleasers.
15. Yard & Coop
Yard & Coop’s farm-to-fork, buttermilk coated chicken is tossed in a secret recipe crumb, making it truly irresistible. The Dirty Bird bowl of fries loaded with cheese sauce and fried chicken will have you coming back time and time again.
