There’s nothing quite like sitting back and watching a film on the big screen but what if you could watch it in high resolution? Well, one of the most anticipated films of the summer, Oppenheimer will be screening in 70mm IMAX at Vue Manchester Printworks– and it’s the only UK venue outside of London to do so.
Every second of explosive drama in this fascinating historic biopic will be shown just how director Christopher Nolan intended, on one of the largest IMAX screens in Europe. Arriving at Vue Manchester Printworks on July 21, the cinema is one of just 30 across the globe to show this 70mm screening of the film, which highlights even more of the excellent cinematography, gripping storytelling and edge-of-your-seat drama.
Directed by Christopher Nolan of The Dark Knight and Inception fame, Oppenheimer will tell the story of the triumph and tragedy surrounding American scientist J. Robert Oppenheimer (portrayed by Peaky Blinders’ star Cillian Murphy) and his role in the development of the atomic bomb in World War II. Based on the Pulitzer Prize winning book American Prometheus, the film boasts an all-star cast that also includes Emily Blunt, Matt Damon, Robert Downey Jr, Gary Oldman and Florence Pugh.
Robert Lea, Head of Screen Content at Vue Entertainment, said: “A new Christopher Nolan film is always an exciting big screen moment, providing a guaranteed calendar highlight for film fans to look forward to. That’s why we’re thrilled to be screening the award-winning director’s latest film like it he intended it to be seen – on our 70mm IMAX screen at Vue Manchester Printworks.
“As the only venue outside of London in the UK screening Oppenheimer in this format – one of just 30 worldwide – it’s a privilege for us to offer this unique way to experience the film.”
