What better way to show off how Manc you are?
Revamping the classic Air Force 1’s with a Mancunian twist, Nike is set to release a brand new design – and it features special Manchester-themed details that Mancs will absolutely love.
Proudly boasting the famous Manchester bee motif, the new tan-toned trainers will be available to purchase this month, with proceeds going to the We Love MCR Charity’s ‘Manchester’s Rising Stars’ Fund.
Featuring a premium leather finish with hidden details such as ‘0161’ embroidered into the lip, and the use of a honeycomb-style mesh on the inners, the trainers have been created with a good cause in mind, helping to support young Mancs from disadvantaged backgrounds.
Councillor Tommy Judge, Lord Mayor of Manchester and chair of We Love MCR Charity, said: “This fantastic initiative unites Manchester’s iconic worker bee with a world-class product.
“It is our greatest brand collaboration so far, by far!
Continuing: “The funds we raise from every pair bought means we can support young Mancunians from disadvantaged backgrounds to fulfil their potential.
“Our Manchester’s Rising Stars Fund awards grants to ambitious young people, to help them take their next steps to success in work, qualifications or entrepreneurship.”
Operating on a raffle basis, which launches this Sunday 15th November with size?, Nike has created just 3,000 pairs of the special trainers – making the design pretty rare. And if you want to nab yourself a pair you’ll need to be quick, with the raffle closing on November 19th at 8am. Those lucky enough to be chosen in the raffle will then be able to purchase the trainers for £130.
